Our vision places Worrall Memorial Hall at the heart of the community, providing a sustainable, secure, culturally diverse, and accessible space that is valued and supported by the residents of Worrall and surrounding local communities.
Our mission is to promote, enable and facilitate inclusive leisure, recreation, educational activities, and events, aiming to enhance all our users social, physical and mental wellbeing.
Our aims are to:-
- Keep the building available, accessible, and safe for the use of local people and others.
- Enable a range of social, educational, development and health activities to take place at the hall which responds to the needs of local people.
- Provide good quality services to users of the Worrall Memorial Hall.
- Consult with the local community so that we keep up to date with local issues and where possible, advocate and support the local community.
- Be financially sustainable.

The Memorial Hall has existed since 1919 but in 2009 the premises were considerably extended and improved to meet present legislation and health and safety considerations. The hall was made bigger and a new entrance with disabled access was installed. New toilets have been provided including disabled and baby change and there is a hearing loop. There is also a bar area, a separate smaller meeting room and a car park.
For more information on our facilities and details of how to hire the hall for private events please read the hiring the hall & enquiry pages. From here you are also able to access our review page, to read feedback on hirers experiences.
The WCA organises groups, classes and events for all age groups and welcomes people from Worrall and surrounding areas. See activities page.
Throughout the year there are a number of fund raising events such as the Annual Gala/Festival (see Gala page) and Bonfire evening, as well as other events such as wine tasting and plant sale. We also run one off events such as for the Queen’s Jubilee. For full details off all our activities and events, both present and future, please visit the Events page and view our up to date calendar.
As a voluntary organisation we could not do what we do without our wonderful volunteers. If you have an interest in joining us either on the events side (see events page) or as a Director or Friend of WCA, please read the About Us page. A big thank you too all.
